Party Masks

Whether you are going to a fancy-dress party or a costume ball, there is nothing like our party masks to instantly transform you into a mysterious stranger straight out from the streets of Venice during the Carnival. Choose from our glamorous sequined eyemasks, lorniette or feathered eyemasks and dominoes in luscious colours and embellishments.

Little-known facts about party masks:

  • The name of the domino mask comes from the ecclesiastical saying "Benedicamus Domino" (“let us praise the Lord”) which was used by monks as a greeting.
  • The domino was used mainly by women seeking to conceal their identities.
  • The party masks were not exclusively used for carnivals. They were very popular during the fortnight of the Ascension, official banquets and major celebrations.
  • Some other interesting uses include: protecting gamblers from giving away indiscreet looks, avoiding creditors or by noble men begging on street corners who wished to remain anonymous.
