Cowboy Hats
5 uses for a Cowboy Hat
- Keeps out the sun.
- Keeps off the rain.
- Quite useful for sending signals.
- Ditto for fanning a campfire.
- Looks great on those beautiful cowgirls.
There's nothing more iconic from the old west then the cowboy hat. People see the hat as a sign of strength, hard working and, most importantly, good times. The cowboy hat has been around since the mid 1800's when a man by the name of John B. Stetson (there is a hat with his name) introduced the masterpiece.
Now hen night sequin cowboy hats are the key party item for all the best hen nights.
Cowboy Hat Etiquette
Here is when to tip your cowboy hat (preferably a sequined cowboy hat or glitter cowboy hat!):
- When you are walking with a friend who says hello to a woman that he knows, but you do not.
- When chatting up a stranger in a night club.
- When a man thanks you for a dance.
- After getting directions from a stranger, for sure if the stranger is a woman.
- When you excuse yourself to a woman.
You take off your cowboy hat when:
- Entering a building (Pubs and clubs especially!)
- Being introduced, especially to a lady (or gentleman!)
- Starting a conversation (not needed if you are just saying "Hello" as you pass them).
- During the National Anthem.
- In the shower!
Cowboy Hat Facts
- Hats are different for Southern and Northern cowboys. When Texans traveled north they found that their wide-brimmed hats didn't stick on their because of the strong wind. The northern hats changed to be more narrow-brimmed and usually had a leather band that could be tightened to keep the hat in place.
- The cowboy hat is a toned-down version of the hats used in Mexico. No flashy designs were used for cowboy hats as cowboys didn't have many chances to shower and did not have much use for fancy designs anyway.
- Sequined cowboy hats and glitter cowboy hats are now the No. 1 accessory for any hen do!
